Our favorite things about Dupont Circle.

Written by Ethan Miller | June 2

Dupont Circle is one of the most vibrant communities in Washington, DC. Known for its historic architecture, tree-lined streets, and diverse food scene, it’s no surprise that visitors flock here to experience everything the neighborhood has to offer. We spoke with some of our team members who live in the area and asked them to share their favorite things to see and do in Dupont Circle. Here are a few of their suggestions:

1. Take a self-guided walking tour of Embassy Row
Dupont Circle is home to Embassy Row, a stretch of Massachusetts Avenue where many foreign embassies are located. Take a self-guided walking tour and admire the architecture of these impressive buildings. Some notable embassies include the Embassy of Indonesia, the Embassy of Greece, and the Embassy of Chile, to name a few.

2. Visit The Phillips Collection
Immerse yourself in America's first museum of modern art at The Phillips Collection. A true gem among DC's cultural offerings, this famous museum houses an impressive collection of masterpieces by renowned artists. From the vibrant brushstrokes of Renoir to the bold abstractions of Rothko, each artwork tells a compelling story and invites you to explore the depths of human creativity.

3. Grab a book and breakfast at Kramers
Kramers, an iconic independent bookstore, is a popular hangout spot in Dupont Circle. Not only does it have an extensive selection of books, but it also has a solarium dining space that serves delicious dishes created by a James Beard award-winning chef. Their avocado toast and cherry blossom waffle are crowd favorites. Insider tip: breakfast is served all day long.

4. Catch a comedy show at DC Improv
If you’re in the mood for some laughs, head to the city’s favorite comedy club. DC Improv has attracted many famous comedians over the years and offers shows almost every night of the week. They also host open mic nights for aspiring comedians, and their acclaimed Comedy School features a variety of classes available for all skill levels.

5. Dance the night away at Cafe Citron
Don’t forget to pack your dancing shoes. Dupont Circle is known for its active nightlife scene, and Cafe Citron is the perfect example. This lively spot offers salsa lessons and a dance floor that’s always packed. Better yet, their menu is brimming with Bolivian-, Peruvian-, and Mexican-inspired bites. Might we suggest the lomo saltado paired with a tropical Cuban mojito?

Overall, Dupont Circle is a dynamic neighborhood in Washington, DC, with plenty of fun activities.
