1. Verify your informationIn order to keep Placemakr safe for all guests and residents, we require all guests to verify their information before giving access to the building and their unit.
We will send you a unique link to verify your information and complete your reservation, however you may also look it up here.
2. Download the KastleResident app and set up your account
Before you arrive, download the KastleResident app—this will act as your mobile key. At 4pm on the day of your arrival, you'll be able to create your account in the app to access the building and your unit.
When setting up your account in the KastleResident app, be sure to use the same email address you used to book your reservation. Account setup will not be possible until 4pm on the day of your arrival.
If you have additional guests staying with you, please send us their names, emails, and phone numbers, so they can receive Kastle access as well.
If at any point you have trouble, call us at (202) 979-9170 or come see us in Guest Services Unit 621.
Arriving by foot or getting dropped off
Head to the Placemakr Buzzard Point guest entrance, located at 101 V St SW (in the Byron building of The Stacks apartments). Use this link to navigate to our location.
Use the KastleResident app to unlock the door and enter the building (see instructions below). Bluetooth and location services must be enabled.
Having trouble, or don't have the app?
Use the intercom to call the Placemakr team, and we'll let you into the building. Then, come see us in Unit 621 for assistance.
Parking
Parking is available onsite and must be booked in advance of your stay. If you did not book parking while making your reservation, please give us a call to add on.
Parking is $50/night for Placemakr guests. If you booked parking in advance, we will send you a QR code to access the garage on the morning of your arrival. The garage entrance is located at V St SW and 2nd St SW.
Once inside the garage, park anywhere on level P2. Then, head to the nearby elevator vestibule—look for the ‘The Byron’ on the red wall.
To enter the vestibule and access the elevators and your floor, scan your Kastle App mobile key on the black reader. You may also head to Guest Services in Unit 621.
Don’t have the app? Press the button on the silver reader for assistance, then state your name and that you are a Placemakr guest. Take the elevators to the 1st floor and give us a call at +1-202-979-9170 to complete check-in.
Arriving after hours? If the overhead doors are closed, scan your Kastle app on the reader to enter the garage. If you do not have the app, call us at +1-202-979-9170 for assistance.
Each unit has access to a washer and dryer for washing your clothes and linens either in your unit or in shared communal space. All units are also equipped with handheld steamers.
You’ll have broom and dustpan, toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, and laundry detergent, and you can add á la carte unit cleaning for $119/cleaning. If you need extra towels or linens, please ask us.
All food and grocery deliveries must be met at the front entrance. For safety reasons, we don't allow deliveries up to guest floors.
Nearby Harris Teeter is located in Capitol Riverfront, just a 7-minute drive away. Open daily 6am-11pm. Directions here.

Does Placemakr Buzzard Point allow pets?
Yes, pets are welcome. Please let us know before your arrival if you’re bringing a pet so we can prepare for them.
This property is dog- and cat-friendly. We charge a non-refundable, one-time pet cleaning fee of $100 to cover the costs of special housekeeping. This helps ensure the safety and comfort of guests who stay in the room after you.
As a Placemakr guest, you agree to our terms and conditions, which include our pet policy. Please refer to the policy for specifics, including a fine for failure to declare a pet.
Do you have a pack-n-play?
Yes! Placemakr Buzzard Point is family-friendly. If you need a pack ’n play, please let us know before your arrival, and we’ll make sure you’re all squared away.
Is there luggage storage on-site?
Yes, Placemakr Buzzard Point provides complimentary luggage storage. If you arrive early, we’re happy to offer free luggage storage until check-in time at 4 p.m. Placemakr is not responsible for lost or stolen property.
Does Placemakr Buzzard Point provide housekeeping for its guests?
We provide all the necessities to keep your room clean, including laundry (in-unit washer and dryer or complimentary on-site laundry facilities) and dishwashers. We do, however, offer à la carte cleaning for $119. Contact us to arrange for this service.
Does Placemakr Buzzard Point offer early check-in?
When available, we're happy to offer early check-in for an additional cost.

For non-prepaid reservations on our standard cancellation policy, your payment method on file will be charged the day before your arrival. If you need to update your payment method, please let us know.
We do not accept cash or pre-paid credit cards.
Please refer to your confirmation email to review your cancellation policy. If you need to cancel or modify your stay and you booked directly through Placemakr.com or our team, please contact us. If you booked through a different site, such as Expedia or Airbnb, please contact that site directly to alter your stay.
